1- Sieve Tray
Sieve trays are simply metal plates with holes in them. Vapor passes straightupward through the liquid on the plate. The arrangement, number and size ofthe holes are design parameters. Because of their efficiency, wide operating range,ease of maintenance and cost factors
2- Valve Tray
Valve trays are the most commonly used tray types because of their suitability fora large variety of mass transfer applications. They are characterized by a high capacityand a large load range, which results in good mass transfer rates.
3- Bubble Cap Tray
A bubble cap tray has riser or chimney fitted over each hole, and a cap that
covers the riser.The cap is mounted so that there is a space between riser and cap to allow the passage of vapor.Vapor rises through the chimney and is directed downward by the cap,Finally discharging through slots in the cap, and finally bubbling through the liquid on the tray.
4- Dual Flow Tray
Dual flow trays are sieve trays that do not have down comers. The term dual
flow comesfrom the countercurrent flow of the vapor and liquid through the perforations. It best suitsystems containing a moderate to high solids content or polymerizable compounds.High open area dual flow trays have a higher capacity and lower pressure drop thancomparably spaced fractionation trays.
5- Cartridge Tray
Suitable for small diameter body flanges. Can provide up to 5 trays per cartridge. Different sealing options are available.
